Where To Donate Used Makeup in Vancouver (Or Other Gently Used Toiletries)
Hi everyone!
If you’re looking to donate some new or gently used makeup or toiletries, here are some charitable organizations in Vancouver that would really appreciate your help! I know in the past I would just drop items off at Value Village, but there are some options here if you’d like your items to go straight to someone who may need them! If you know of any other ones as well please comment below!
Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre
The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre provides a safe space and gives practical support, basic necessities and hot nutritious meals to over 500 women and children every day. They help connect women in need to a variety of services including outreach, advocacy, wellness, recreation, housing and skills development. It says on their updated holiday wishlist that they are seeking (new, unopened) items for women like:
Mitts and scarves, socks, underwear
Toiletries, make-up
Time: They are accepting Christmas donations until December 13th
Thursday-Tuesday 10 am-12 pm; 2-4.30 pm
Wednesday 11 am-12 pm; 2-4.30 pm

Dress For Success Vancouver
Originally founded in New York City, Dress For Success aims to empower women into the workforce by providing them with professional attire, career services and skills development programs. Their Vancouver chapter is accepting the following items and more based on their donate page:
Modern business suits and blazers, professional outerwear, footwear
Unopened makeup and cosmetics
They are accepting donations at the following times:
Thursdays 1:00pm - 7:00pm
Saturdays 10:00am - 12:30pm

WISH
WISH helps to protect and improve the health, well-being and safety of women who are involved in Vancouver’s street based sex trade. They do some amazing work to provide opportunities to make free, healthy and positive choices for some of the most vulnerable women in our society. They currently accept makeup and toiletries (new or partially used) amongst clothing and other necessities.
They are accepting donations at the following times:
Monday - Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm
Donation Location: they only accept donations at the office on 334 Alexander street, not in the back alley

Vancouver Women’s Health Collective
The VWHC advocates for appropriate, equitable and quality health care for all women. It is 99% volunteer-run, and rely on donations from community organizations to serve the thousands of women who access their services annually. On their donation page, they specify that they are looking for the following (amongst other necessities as well):
make-up (new or gently used except mascara)
jewelry, perfume
deodorant, razors
toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss,
shampoo and conditioner, body wash, lotion
They haven’t posted donation times but you can call in during their open times:
Monday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Tuesday – Thursday 12:00pm – 5:00pm
Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm
