Heimish All Clean Balm Review [In-Depth]

If you haven’t tried cleansing balms yet - the Heimish All Clean Balm is a game-changer. GAME CHANGER! This is a perfect cleansing balm to start with for the double cleansing method.

I’ve tried the Banila Co Clean It Zero, Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, even a bunch of cleansing oils like DHC or Shu Uemura...but this is the one true love I always come back to.

Let’s dive into this in-depth review of the Heimish All Clean Balm! Spoiler: this has made it to my all-time favourite product list!

Heimish All Clean Balm Quick Facts

Formulation: Paraben-free and Vegan

Potential irritants: Ethylhexyl Palmitate is a blend of ethylhexyl alcohol which has a 2-4 comedogenicity rating (pore-clogging). Not a major irritant but worth noting if you have very sensitive skin.

Texture: Very lightweight and creamy once it melts a little, it’s a silky sorbet-like feel that easily melts away makeup/any dirt and oils. For a double cleanse you will have to use another water-based cleanser afterwards.

Scent: Natural/botanical, spa-like scent. Notes of Eucalyptus, Coconut oil and Lavender.

Packaging: Simple with a beautiful botanical pattern on the outer packaging and lid to the pot. Comes with a spatula to apply the product. The matte plastic packaging isn’t flimsy and feels nice and substantial to hold.

Price: ~$20 CAD

Where to buy: Amazon or StyleVana

Main pros: The texture is sorbet like, not too thick and not too thin - turns into a light oil when you massage it into your skin and is effective at removing all waterproof makeup. It emulsifies really nicely and skin does not feel tight or dry after you rinse it off. Suitable for all skin types.

Main cons: It leaves a bit of a residue so you will need to use a gentle second cleanser to double cleanse.

About

The Heimish website notes that their All Clean balm has the advantages of cleansing oil and is an all-in-one cleanser that is able to cleanse the skin, dead cells, and blackheads at the same time.

It offers a spa-like treatment with its soothing and healing effects, as the cleansing balm melts into the face to remove makeup and dirt with the natural aroma oil. It is rich in 10 types of aroma oils that provide moisture and elasticity to the skin.

*The ethylhexyl palmitate ingredient provides a richness to the Heimish all cleansing balm which is used to leave your skin feeling silky and smooth, which works well with the cetyl ethylhexanoate that is used to give you that non-oily feel and allow for the balm to spread easily.

How to use the Heimish All Clean Balm

Step 1: Place an appropriate amount of the cleanser, using the spatula provided, into dry hands. (Works better if your hands are warm already!)

Step 2: Massage the balm into dry skin in circular motions, making sure to work around your whole face (including your eyes but make sure you close those peepers!) to loosen all your makeup.

Step 3: Wet your hands with lukewarm water, continuing to loosen your makeup with the combination of the water and the cleansing balm, then rinse. Finally, pat dry or follow with a foam or water based cleanser to double cleanse. (For a full in-depth description of how to oil cleanse, I recommend watching Hyram’s YouTube video on it!)

Heimish All Clean Balm Pros

One of the things that really brings me back to using this balm over any other balms or even cleansing oils is the scent and texture. It’s originally a solid, but with the warmth of your hands it turns into more of a creamy balm.

It’s not greasy feeling (like the Banila co one). It’s also not plopping straight-up oil (like the Shu oil cleansers) onto your face. It effectively removes all of my makeup and the experience is super pleasant!

Cons

If you wear a lot of makeup or a ton of waterproof makeup it’s not the strongest balm/oil out there to remove everything in one go. It also leaves a teeny bit of a film (but that’s like a lot of other options out there as well).

Also, if you don’t like botanical scents, you might want to stay away from this (it has a light scent)!

Heimish All Clean Balm Review Summary

All in all the Heimish All Clean Balm is a tried and true favourite! You only need a dime-size dollop to easily dissolve all your makeup effectively. The whole double cleansing process is therapeutic and I hope you’ll really enjoy the scent as much as I do!

Let me know below if you end up giving this a try!

Cheers,
